The cities&#8217; landfills are in overcapacity condition but scarcity of land and limited local governments&#8217; financing capacity and skill sets prevent the development of advanced waste treatment facility. The study explores solutions to help stakeholders in the region implement a Waste-to-Energy project through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. To cross-fertilize the know-how, a working paper on the subject urban waste issues in developing countries is produced. This working paper is intended to provide perspectives and practical tools for successful implementation of large-scale Waste-to-Energy facility development using PPP scheme to support stakeholders that are directly involved in the project preparation and procurement of Waste-to-Energy PPP projects in large cities of South and Southeast Asia countries.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Asian developing countries face urban waste issues and find difficulties in implementing waste treatment solutions.
